The Lodge

At first look the Interior Atlantic Forest of Iguazu seems to be an uniform habitat, but this idea is wrong. It has different environments as: the gallery forest (following the bank of the rivers), vast areas with bamboo, the palm forest (Palmitales) and the hilly places. These habitats offer shelter for different species of birds. In order to appreciate this diversity of birds we propose a full day of birding including owling activities

Day 1:

Very early in the morning (half an hour before the sunrise) pick up from the hotel in Puerto Iguazu, transfer to the Urugua-i Provincial Park (100 km), birding in a path following the banks of the Uruzu creek.
Lunch in the Andresito village. Transfer to a lodge in a private reserve. Accommodation in a comfortable room. Birding around the lodge Dinner and owling at night.

Day 2:

Early wake up, birding in a different path and breakfast. Return to Iguazu city, crossing the Iguazu National Park, making stops to spot birds. Box lunch. End of the services.

Target birds: Tawny-browed Owl, Rusty-barred Owl, Black-breasted Plovercrest, Sharp-tailed Streamcreeper, Rufous-capped Spintail, Large-tailed Antshrike, Dusky-tailed Antbird, Variegated Antpitta, Mouse-colored Tapaculo, Red-ruffed Fruitcrow, Ochre-faced Tody-Flycatcher, Black-throated Grosbeak, etc
